How we test WordPress hosting

Every number on this site comes from a test we ran ourselves. This page documents the exact setup so anyone can reproduce — or challenge — our results.

The test site

We deploy the same WordPress installation on every platform:

• Same WordPress version, theme, and plugin set
• Same database content, pages, and images
• Same caching configuration (documented per test)

What we measure

• Time to First Byte (cached and uncached)
• Largest Contentful Paint and Core Web Vitals
• Performance under concurrent traffic (load tests)
• Uptime over the monitoring period
• WordPress admin responsiveness
• Backup creation and restoration time
• Migration difficulty, support response time and quality
• Real cost at several traffic levels, including overages

Test conditions

• Tests run from US locations (documented per report)
• Multiple runs per metric; we publish the median and the spread
• Test dates are shown on every review and benchmark report

What we publish

• Raw or summarized benchmark data with test dates
• Product configuration used in each test
• Known limitations of each test run
• A changelog when tests are repeated

Independence

We pay for the hosting plans we test. Affiliate commissions fund the testing but never influence results — see the editorial policy.
